About

I write Rukhposh from Kashmir — not about it from somewhere else. Every destination, every hidden trail, every recipe here is one I’ve walked to, eaten, or sat with someone who makes it by hand.

This site started because most travel content about Kashmir is written by people who spent three days here on a press trip, or not written by anyone who’s been here at all. I wanted something different: a place where the Mughal Road gets written about with the same care as Gulmarg, where a wazwan feast is explained by someone who’s actually eaten one, where the permit information is current because I checked it this month, not three years ago.

[Replace this paragraph with your own story — where you grew up, how long you’ve been exploring the valley, what got you writing.]

If you’re planning a trip, start with the travel guides or one of the itineraries. If you just want to read, the marvels section is where I put the stories I’m proudest of.
